Leadership is like a skill or art more than just science.  A dedicated and honest leader is the backbone of any country; with their decision-making powers they are the ones who shape the future of their countries but a world leader has both the power and the position to amaze or shock the world, industries and media with just one decision. 197 – The number of countries and their leaders in the world but only a few among these have the power that can impact the whole world with their decisions.

A leader must have a lot off influence on the people around the whole world to become powerful and the leaders in the list below are the most influential of the current times.

1) Donald Trump


Donald Trump is the current president of the United States of America. He was born on 14th June 1946 in Queens, New York City. He became the president of the United States on 20 January 2017.

Trump age: - 74 years.

Being the President of the largest economy in the world gives one the immense power to make the decisions which will impact the lives of every individual around the world. Trump is one of the fiercest leaders in the world. With his bold decision making and leadership, he has ended the war with Taliban in Afghanistan which was costing America a lot. Only President Trump is known to have the guts to call trade war against the Chinese to stop Chinese companies’ mal-practices as the war will impact the GDP of his own country too.

Trump is known for his “Daredevil” approach as he intends to finish anything and everything that he starts. He started his tenure with a bold decision of making a wall on the open Mexican border. He became the oldest President of the U.S and the only one without prior Army or Government services.

2) Vladimir Putin


Vladimir Putin is the current president of Russia and he has held the president position since 2012.  He was born on 7th October 1952 in St. Petersburg.

Putin age: - 67 years.

The only leader in the world that can do whatever he wants and get away with it.  He features in the list of “10 people you don’t want to mess with”. He has studied law and served as an Intelligence officer before entering politics. Putin also served as the Prime Minister of Russia in two terms from 1999 to 2000 and 2008 to 2012. He also held the position of President from 1999 to 2008. From 2008 to 2012, he held the position of Prime minister. So basically, he had been the leader of Russia since 1999.

 In his first tenure as the President, the economy of Russia grew for 8 years straight. Putin is known to be the sole political power in Russia; the powers residing with him are countless and enough to disrupt or renovate the future of the whole world. Putin is determined to put Russia as the world superpower and there are not many leaders around the world who dare oppose him. He has been accused of many things from assassinations, torture, persecutions to sabotaging elections in his own country and others but nothing can be proved against him.

3) Angela Merkel


Angela Merkel is the current chancellor of Germany. She has held the position since 2005. She was born on 17 July 1954 in Hamburg.

Merkel age: - 66 years.

Angela is the head of the government and Chief Executive of Germany. Merkel is known as the most dominant and powerful women in the World. She is often described as the de facto leader (a leader who has assumed power and authority regardless of lawful/legitimate means) of the European Union. Some people also call her “the leader of the free world”. She was a scientist before beginning her political career. She was appointed as the first female chancellor of Germany, a position she has held from the last fifteen years and through 4 elections.

She is the only leader who stood up against Russians for their aggression against Ukraine. She has taken Germany to the top spot in Europe with a strong economy and lowest Unemployment rate.

4) Narendra Modi


Narendra Damodardas Modi is the 14th and current Prime Minister of India. He has held the position of P.M since 2014. He was born on 17th September 1950 in Vadnagar, Gujarat.

Modi age: - 69 years.

Modi is the most liked and followed political leader around the world. Before being elected as the Prime Minister of India, he held the CM Chair of Gujarat for 14 years. He was back-listed for Visa by many countries such as America after World media accused him of 2002 Gujarat riots but the same governments and countries are closest friends to him in the current times. He is mostly known for taking action against terrorism and Pakistan who has been the house of such terrorists. He is only Prime Minister of India outside of Congress who has won Elections twice with full majority. 

Narendra Modi is introducing new initiatives that will improve the lives of all people in the largest democracy of the world. He has improved foreign relations with all the major countries in the world which will bring investments in India and will help in the rise of the falling economy of the country. He has also shown the world his dominant side by banning 59 Chinese apps post Chinese intervention on Indian Territory, Demonetization, Air and Surgical Strike.

5) Xi Jinping


Xi is the president of the People’s Republic of China, General Secretary of the Communist party of China and Chairman of the Central Military Commission since 2012/13.  He was born on 15th June 1953 in Beijing, China.

Jinping age: - 67 years.

Since Xi started his tenure as the president, the world has seen the dominance of China in every field. He is known as the first and most powerful Chinese emperor and also as China’s paramount leader. According to many reports, since 2012, the Chinese have overshadowed the economy of the U.S but Xi decides to not show it to strengthen the economy even more. In his governance china has taken control over Taiwan, Vietnam and many other parts of the world.

Xi is determined to boost the power and influence of China around the globe.  In his tenure, China has become the largest exporter of goods and services around the world.

6) Benjamin Netanyahu


Benjamin is the current Prime Minister of Israel. He has held the Prime Minister position since 2009. He was born on 21st October 1949 in Tel-Aviv, Israel.

Netanyahu age: - 70 years.

Netanyahu served in Special Forces of Ukraine during which he has fought on front lines and led a few raids before starting his career as a politician. He became the youngest Ukrainian Prime Minister in 1996. He also served as Minister of Foreign affairs and Minister of Finance during which the economy of Israel grew significantly. He is the longest-serving prime minister in Israel history and he is the first prime minister who was born in Israel. In his leadership, Israel has reached new achievements in the technology and medical fields.

7) Boris Johnson


Boris is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom since 2019. He was born on 19th June 1964 in New York City.

Boris Johnson age: - 56 years.

Being the Prime Minister of U.K is enough in itself to have the power that can affect the lives of people all around the world. Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson used to be an author and also a journalist before he started his political career. His impact in this short period of time has been revolutionary and he has been focused on strengthening the United Kingdom’s health care system which the world has noticed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

8) Shinzo Abe


Shinzo is a Japanese politician who is serving as the current Prime Minister of Japan and the President of the Liberal Democratic Party. He is the longest-serving Prime Minister in the history of Japan as he has held the position since 2012. He was born on 21st September 1954 in Tokyo, Japan.

Shinzo Abe age: - 65 years.

He is known to be a great leader who revived the falling economy of Japan. He made good foreign allies and now moving against China who threatens to occupy Japan’s territorial islands. Japan is among only few neighbors of mighty China to turn against them. Most of the Prime Ministers of Japan were considered useless by the world media but not Shinzo; he is playing a major role as peacemaker in the ongoing tensions between America and Iran which could have led to the next world war.

9) Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud


Salman is the king of Saudi Arabia and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques since 2015. He was born on 31st December 1935 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Before becoming the king, he was the Deputy Governor of Riyadh for 48 years. He became the king after the demise of his brother King Abdullah. His major initiatives include the Saudi intervention in the Yemeni Civil war. He is the leader who passed the law which allowed women to drive. His son Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman is considered as the de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia. Salman has been part of many controversies from the killing of royal family members to executing and detaining people who rejected or talked against Islam even though they were just juvenile.

But as the king of Saudi Arabia, the biggest exporter of oil in the world, Salman has incredible influence in the Middle East as well as the whole world.

10) Justin Trudeau


Justin Pierre James Trudeau is the current Prime Minister of Canada and he has held the position since 2015. He is the second youngest Prime Minister of Canada. He was born on 25th December 1971 in Ottawa, Canada.

Justin Trudeau age: - 48 years.

During the very initial days of his tenure, he decided to legalize Marijuana through the Cannabis Act which is still one of the boldest moves by any Prime Minister in the World. In an assessment by 20 independent academics, it was brought out that Justin’s government fulfilled more than 90% of their pledges made in their campaign, seriously that’s a lot considering other leaders of the world. He has fought for women rights in his country.

He holds zero-tolerance policy against sexual assault, harassment or other forms of misconduct. In a bold move, Justin criticized Donald Trump for banning refugees from 7 countries. He also stripped Myanmar leader from her Canadian citizenship over the Rohingya Muslim minority issue in Myanmar. Since he was elected as Prime Minister, he has helped 25,000 Syrian refugees to settle in Canada.
