What is a Branding?

According to the Oxford dictionary, the definition of branding is "the activity of giving a particular name and image to goods and services so people will be attracted to them and want to buy them."

The major part of being an entrepreneur is knowing the value of your personal brand. It attracts people to invest time and money in your ideas. It also helps you create your unique image in the market. You can gain media coverage, engage in public speaking, etc.

You need to establish yourself as an expert in order to create an influential brand around your name. Apart from being an expert in your field, you need to look like an expert. This is something you should have in mind before starting any startup. People trust what they hear the most, so you need to make yourself stand out of the crowd, your personal brand makes a huge impact on the type of audience you get. Here are few strategies you should definitely try.

1. Be regular for gaining maximum attention

The more the audience witnesses you, the more famous you get, as simple as that. Engage yourself in all the major updates in your field, express your views in public, get engaged in social media, these all help you create your own image as an expert in the field.

2. Don’t be authoritative. You are in demand because the audience wants you to be.

Being in the headlines doesn’t make you famous, you need to be humble towards your audience, it is not your name, it is what they have created for you. You need to move parallel along with your audience’s interest. Your press appearance should be offering interesting ideas to an engaged audience. 3. Private interaction matters as much as public relations.

Personal interaction makes it easy for others to determine your knowledge regarding your niche. It also gives you a chance to show how good you are with all your clients, and how well you handle your business. They get to know you better in private as compared to pubic interaction.

4. Build your own brand.

In order to gain profit for your business, you need to set up your personal brand. Firstly, you should have a personal website, apart from your business, where you people could know more about you. When people search for you, they will be recommended your website, where all your businesses are listed, along with all your contributions. You could gain an interested audience for your next service. You could start blogging your views and reviews about new products in your niche. This will help you build credibility as a leader.

Use social media platforms like Twitter, Reddit and other community forums to interact with the media and journalists. Share influential stories for the starters. You can also review small contributors to gain popularity. When more and more people will ask you for guidance, it will create your personality as an expert in their minds.

And the most important part of creating your own brand is not by marketing, but by satisfying your client's needs by working in an extraordinary manner. According to Gartner, 80 percent of the future revenue of your company will come from 20 percent of your present existing customers.


All these steps, when followed accordingly, will help you create an influential personal brand. This will help your company/companies grow with ease in the future.
